With the changing of the brard (brew-guard) foreshadowed in previous posts, this week the blokes welcomed their new recruits and advised them in all things brew’o’meter to ensure a smooth, but rigorous, transition. After thousands of reviewing drills and tests consisting of bloke-lore-trivia, it was time to stop by Sayers Sister in Perth.
Vibes 🍃- Sayers Sister is on a beautiful suburban side street in the neighbourhood-y part of Perth (6000). A key feature that drew the blokes’ attention was the central communal sitting space (one big table for people to sit/read/socialise), reminding the blokes of coffee’s traditional social origins in Turkish Coffee houses. With a nice (wind and rain protected) verandah, the blokes were very comfy!
Taste 👅- The blokes are always happy to see ozzy park roasters ‘Darkstar’ running as standard for the milk blend. Described by one bloke as ‘Classic Kelvin’, this Brazillian/PNG was a very well extracted drop with standard notes of cocoa, caramel and a hint of stone fruit. Super velvety and smooth, one your whole family would enjoy (including your sister).
Temperature 🌡- The blokes were in concordance that the temperature levels were more than serviceable.
Glass Size 📏 – Interestingly a 7oz glass. But hey, more coffee for my friends and I.
Froth 🥛 – Froth levels were pretty bang on.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – Above average for sure, with a couple of tulips and even a rosetta for one lucky bloke. Nothing to tell your grandchildren about however
Q: What do you say(ers) sisters (blokes), where hath thy long mac journey taken you this week?
Blokes: We went to Sayers Sisters! This warm and vibrant Northbridge café was just the place for a cold Perth morning. Making us feel as if we were transported into a past world with its stone and brick aesthetic and low hanging chandeliers, we’d happily spend all day here sipping on awesome coffee. Lovely spot, and even lovelier brew, assemble your friends, parents, coworkers and (Sayers) sisters and give it a try! You won’t regret it x
79.6/100 on the Brew ‘o’ Meter! 🤖🤝
