Exam season means that “super saturdays” (two brews in one morning) are a must for the blokes. Following on from last week’s review, the blokes walked mere metres around the corner to Miller and Baker to taste just what the hell was being brewed up over there.
Vibes 🍃- Hard to differentiate geographical vibes from our previous review, as this spot also firmly sits in “great southern brew belt” of the Perth (6000) area. The blokes had to fight tooth and nail for a table (not a bad thing, it was just super busy), and proceeded to enjoy the ambience of this beautiful spot. Miller and Baker is an artisan bakery/pastisserie and the blokes were enthralled to watch flour being milled right before the eir eyes! Can’t really fault the vibes, this just felt like an elite bakery of the highest order.
Taste 👅- Long time between sips of Booragoon roasters – ‘Daylight’. Today we had their ‘Dawn’ blend featuring a washed PNG origin that is a real crowd-pleaser. Think notes of dark cocoa, golden raisins and a hint of cherry vanilla that carried through milk quite nicely. Nothing to write stories home about, certainly would’ve been nicer to have with some hotter milk though (more about that soon).
Temperature 🌡- Not as hot as we would’ve liked, main problemo 😢
Glass Size 📏 – 6oz, no glass
Froth 🥛 – A little too excessive...
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – Serviceable
As we rowed our boats (bloke mobiles) down the Lake (street), Miller and Baker appeared on the shore beckoning us in. There were comforting aromas of fresh baked bread and flowing espresso, and we were among the masses who flock to this location for their coffee and brunch. The brew we had didn’t blow us away, but we enjoyed the drop that’s for sure. Miller and Baker is a cool place, come and give it a go, and don’t forget the pastries and bread, they looked epic!
73.1/100 on the Brew ‘o’ Meter! 🤖🤝
