Emerging like a butterfly from the cocoon, one of the blokes shot back onto the long mac scene this week after a brief tenure in COVID isolation. With another bloke still in iso, a not-quite-complete team of three had to make do without their beloved bloke/colleague. And make do we did. Artem Coffee was spooky good…
Vibes 🍃- Artem, taking its name from Artemis – Greek goddess of the moon, makes beautiful use of an otherwise small space with a very a-moon-sing back drop. A wicked retail shelf and open-bar set-up really offered an inclusive and warming environment from the cool Perth Autumn. Hard to miss the Dr Strange-esque Sanctum Sanctorum symbol looming over the café, unfortunately no Benedict Cumberbatch in-sight but certainly some wizards behind the machine.
Taste 👅- Awesome to see that Artem are roasting their own beans which seems to be becoming a popular trend in the WA coffee scene. The blokes were impressed to see a Colombian single-origin running as their in-house espresso blend and it certainly tasted tre-moon-dous. Heavy dried-fruit notes - mandarin, apricot and a blackcurrant finish is certainly a flavoursome brew for the modern day drinker from any dimension.
Temperature 🌡 – Similar to Bazlenka’s physique… absolutely stunning.
Glass Size 📏 – 8oz… biting off more than it can chew if you ask me.
Froth 🥛 – Reinforcements were called in to combat the cup… a spoon was used to see the levels. We thank it for its service.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 - Ken…bloody...Oath. A wolf whistle would be appropriate in this circumstance to judge the latte art. Three different designs for three different personalities. Touché.
With one LM journeyman down due to COVID isolation, luckily it was the main three big kahuna’s who stepped up to the plate and smashed this brew review out of the park. The friendliest staff we’ve encountered on our journey thus far, if we had the time stone, we would do it again… Artem Coffee in Mt Pleasant truly pleased with great smiles and fantastic brews. Huge up’s.
