The ancient Chinese proverb, “自己不想要的，别人也不想要” which translated is “What you do not wish for yourself, do not wish for others” teaches us many lessons in this grand journey we call life. Arrival Hall in Northbridge puts forward a brew I would wish for others. We were also blessed with a brother of a bloke joining us today from a distant land by the name of Canberra! Outstanding decor and aromas brought about by sterling coffee, definitely worth a shot (of coffee)😉
Vibes 🍃- Settled on the outskirts of Northbridge, sits a very welcoming 19th century home décor store and charming café. With such a large space (‘Hall’ after all) it is easy to get lost - beautiful furnishings and a very welcoming atmosphere made the blokes feel at home, talks of our new HQ location were suggested. Ended the morning with a friendly game of basketball/soccer - just wasn’t Charlie and Ben’s morning. Perfect 10/10 for the blokes, no questions asked.
Taste 👅- Arrival Hall run a ‘highwire’ milk blend from national roasters DukesCoffee in Vic Park. A culmination of Colombia, Peru and Ethiopia with subtle notes of cherry and chocolate. We felt the milk really overpowered this blend, especially with the culmination of an 11oz glass, seemed to be tending towards the flat white end of the strength spectrum.
Temperature 🌡 – not much more to say than bravo.
Glass Size 📏 - The blokes finally lost their 11oz virginity this morning. As is often the case, the first time isn’t always a fairy tale, and this was reminiscent of the milky brew that the 11oz lent itself to.
Froth 🥛 – The excessive froth let the coffee down and is an area for improvement.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 - The erratic froth levels hurt the consistency of the brews. On a positive note the latte art was sick.
Arrival Hall is a beautiful spot to enjoy a morning vista and brew. In all honesty, the blokes felt a touch out of place in this stunning, minimalist and, dare we say, artistic space. This is truly a quintessential Perth Cafe experience with a solid brew to back it up. Good food, good brews, good space. Say less.
