Writer's pictureBlokes and Their Long Macs

Review #4 - @cupandcocafe

2022 was well and truly off with a bang as we welcomed the new year of brews at Cup & Co in Floreat. For some, a 7:30 start would be considered unfashionably early however for some keen, young and sprightly coffee go-ers, it was a match made in heaven.

Vibes šŸƒ ā€“ Cup & Co is neatly nestled on the border of Floreat and Perry lakes with fantastic views of the bushland. Really nice dĆ©cor, table service and hanging lights made for a boujee vibe but it would have been nice to have some background music to mask the drone of the other blokes, I guess sometimes forced conversation isnā€™t so bad.

Taste šŸ‘… ā€“ Cup & Co uses beans from Dark Star coffee roasters in Osborne Park which is our first taste of their produce. Whilst we couldnā€™t find the exact blend, it seemed to open into a strong dark chocolate flavour profile finishing with a full-bodied praline finish. Indicative of a moderate MASL, the blokes loved this brew.

Temperature šŸŒ” ā€“ The temperature of the brews was described by one of the blokes as ā€˜lukewarmā€™ and it could have used a few more seconds under the steam wand. In saying that, the brew still went down a treat and at the end of the day it wasnā€™t a huge problem.

Glass Size šŸ“ - 6oz = perfect

Froth šŸ„› - The froth of the brews was on the light side, which is favourable for a long macchiato. Nonetheless, one of the brews had next to no froth perhaps due to the imprecise splitting of milk.

General Appearance/Consistency šŸ¤© - the baristas at Cup and Co. opted for 2 love hearts and a delightful 3 layered tulip, but in saying that some more advanced latte art would have been nice. The froth levels were quite consistent as a whole with 2 being identical but the other lacking froth.

A brew-tiful experience it was. The second highest brewā€™oā€™meter rating weā€™ve seen at BaTLM. Although there was inconsistency with latte art, froth levels and temperature. Having been seated to our table and asked for still or sparkling water, Cup and Co proved themselves to be a place where a solid brew is standard. Swing by and enjoy another long mac, you wont regret it!

78.5/100 on the Brew ā€˜oā€™ Meter šŸ¤–šŸ¤
