Conquering their fear of anti-vaxxers and herbal remedies, the ever-stoic blokes made the call to trek down to Fremantle for a brew at Duck Duck Bruce. With one bloke tending to the needs of a Rotto bender, it fell upon the lucky three remaining to put the brew’o’meter to good use…
Vibes 🍃- Bright café hidden in the old port city streets of Freo with plenty of buzz and personality. Housed within a heritage listed cottage, they make great use of space: plant-filled courtyard and dining area with an awesome environment, super friendly staff, awesome food (pancakes were insane) and one of the punniest menu’s you’ll see. Place fills up quick so we would recommend waking up at the ‘quack’ of dawn to secure a table 😉.
Taste 👅- Another taste of 5 Senses Coffee and yet another ‘quaking’ brew. Running a Brazilian/Indian ‘Crompton Road’ blend about as iconic as Channel 9’s ‘Summer of Cricket’ intro music. Notes of milk chocolate, malt, hazelnut and like most of my batting performances - ‘ducks’… a very sharp finish. Definitely a crowd-pleaser and one the blokes enjoyed.
Temperature 🌡 – Can be likened to Ryan Reynold’s physique in the late 2000s, goddamn perfect.
Glass Size 📏 – Wouldn’t mind taking the glass home to meet my parents, was perfect.
Froth 🥛 – Our mums told us not to lie, so we won’t, the froth was unfortunately inconsistent.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – Reminds us of a ‘doicent’ 70% ATAR Politics and Law essay. Does its job, satisfies us yet there’s still some room for improvement.
You’d have to be a silly goose (or silly bruce) to not enjoy the full Duck Duck Bruce experience, awesome location, epic vibes, and outstanding brews. So chocolatey and beautiful, *chefs kiss*. Crompton Road is always a delightful blend, so expectations were high and fortunately they were met. Bravo to this Ducking good brew!
75.5/100 on the Brew ‘o’ Meter 🤖🤝
