Review #41 - @venn.coffee

Another week, another breview. The blokes will not rest until they have turned every stone (brew) on the metaphorical shore that is the Perth long mac scene. Today the blokes were joined by Danica from Nulsen, one of Australia’s leading disability care providers. The blokes are quickly running out of things to say to each other and were thrilled to have a guest along for the ride! Vibes 🍃- Super impressed with this corner block set-up in East-Vic Park - heaps of space, awesome knowledgeable staff, and a smaller counterpart café (Little Venn) only 50m away! We especially loved the tasting area fitted with 15 different beans, 3 different cold brew options and rotating batch brews to taste. For us it was like kids in a candy shop, except blokes in a coffee shop, not quite as magical yet equally as awesome. Taste 👅- Really tough to judge this section given how often they rotate their house blend, today it was an in-house roasted ‘McMillan St’ blend. They didn’t lie about the 5/5 intensity because we felt like we had just started a fight with a metaphorical grapefruit that was 6’5”, built like The Rock, and had just heard we made a distasteful comment about its mother because wow that coffee packed a serious punch. Maybe a different bean on a different day would’ve been a different story. Temperature 🌡 – Like the cold side of the pillow, an absolute treat to the senses. Glass Size 📏 –Steve Smith prefers transparent glasses for his long macs and so do we. Froth 🥛 – According to our calculations they were excessive, but only by a small margin. General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – If the Pope is Catholic, then the app/con was decent but nothing to rave about. The Pope is Catholic, therefore … Our (Venn)ture to the park of Victoria (Vic Park) was met with high expectations, maybe just not their day. A gallant effort was put forth by a premier cafe with the potential and resources to assert their dominance in our ranking. As the great Jedi Yoda would say, “fell short did they”. Awesome location, awesome knowledge, awesome resources, and awesome staff. Good… but not the goodest. 70.7/100 on the Brew ‘o’ Meter 🤖🤝 #brewon #brewup
