Hot bloke summer officially commenced this morning with a very festive-feeling brew. Perhaps it was the lovely warmth in the air, or perhaps it was Australia’s First Test domination at Optus. Indeed, perhaps it was the fresh easterly wind blowing away hangovers and toils alike. Regardless, with a new brew primed to grace the brew’o’meter, the blokes were ready to sweat it out in their pursuit of ever-elusive perfection…
Vibes 🍃- Mellow is a new petite modern brunch café and a well needed addition to the Wembley area. Owned and operated by renowned Korean chef, some of the food and brekkie options looked insane and if the blokes weren’t poor struggling uni students would definitely indulge in. Cool, rustic, and bright interior, friendly staff and exotic food… it’s a yes from me (us , the blokes etc.)
Taste 👅- Awesome to see ‘5 Senses’ running through the grinders with a very familiar ‘Dark Horse’ blend that we have seen on numerous occasions on our Long Mac quest. It’s a tough Guatemalan/Nicaraguan bean that can be hard to get right but we can confirm Mellow was spot-on. Tasted about as good as ‘Peter Siddle’s Hat-trick on his birthday’ or ‘Leckies second-half winner’ (also dark-chocolate and light stone-fruit). The result? 4 very happy blokes.
Temperature 🌡 – Similar to the Perth weather today. Quite nice indeed.
Glass Size 📏 – 8oz is a little bit ambitious, but we all love a bit of ambition, don’t we?
Froth 🥛 – Was nearly as impressed as Australia’s World Cup outing.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – We love tulips nearly as much as we love our families (quite literally). Consistency was top notch.
Mellow was certainly a good choice. Their Lac (long mac) made us feel as if Michael B Jordan seductively smiled at us. Sometimes all you need to brighten up your day is a wicked long mac and that is indeed what Mellow provided for us, allowing us to feel joy we greatly desire. No weak spots for the new broperation (brew operation). Huzzah!
