A very merry ‘blokesmas’, all. For some strange reason, the blokes decided to brave the shopping riots of Claremont in pursuit of their most festive brew of the year. This was an awful play, especially because one of the blokes was half an hour late to the brarty (brew-party) due to parking constraints. Nonetheless, the yule never stops, and the blokes popped in for a brew at High Noon Saloon.
Vibes 🍃- Claremont shot slingers tucked away on St Quentin’s Ave with a fitting dark and moody atmosphere to it. Not our ‘first rodeo’ when it comes to small speciality single origin café’s, and we certainly love the aesthetic. Not to mention the rotating range of premium roasters and even sparking water on arrival; yee-haw!
Taste 👅 – High Noon throw down a ‘5 Senses Coffee’ Ethiopian single origin that we rarely see ran with milk. Strong flavours of red grape, guava, and raisin ‘rope you in’ and if you are a fan of a fruity ferment this might be an option for you. Would’ve liked a bit more balance to the brew, but impressive to see them running the single origin as standard.
Temperature 🌡 – ho ho ho hot. Rather hot than cold is what us and Santa Claus always say.
Glass Size 📏 – 6oz was elite. According to Elon musk, transparency is the way of the future.
Froth 🥛 - All we want for Christmas is to see the froth levels… However, we think it was good.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – Appearance was on the naughty list this year, allegedly. Consistency however was very nice.
