The blokes were nervous as they walked out to bat after lunch on 49 not out. Time to start again, get the eye in, no unruly shots. Our batting partner (special guest), Nicole at the other end - seasoned veteran (Q-taster and ASCA barista competition judge) of the difficult and unruly conditions. Don’t think about the milestone - wait for the right brew. They run into brew and serve up a lovely half volley just outside the off stump… the blokes bring up their 50 with a booming cover drive at Secondeli in Mt Lawley. Raise the bat, lock in for an even bigger innings…
Vibes 🍃- Certainly no shortage of cafes for those in the Mount Lawley area with yet another brew spot to try. This Moroccan style café has a warm ambient and industrial décor that the blokes enjoyed. Complimented by splashes of colour and plenty of seating, this is a great place to bring the whole fam. Didn’t have the x factor of a specialty café but we appreciate the fam friendly environment 😊
Taste 👅 – No big surprises to see heavyweight roaster ‘5 Senses Coffee’ in all the hoppers, from milk blend to singles. Interesting to see a Tanzanian single-origin running as standard for the long-macs, not many places we’ve seen make this decision. Cherry-chocolate and sweet apple would be the best way to describe it, perhaps too sharp and acidic of a finish to it, but the body was unique and pleasant.
Temperature 🌡 – Bit too hot… clear inspiration from the Perth Scorchers/Cooper Connolly’s performance.
Glass Size 📏 – 6oz, looks good, tastes good, is good.
Froth 🥛 – Wasn’t the brews strong suite, much like us speaking on radio… (over the top)
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – Threw out some wicked swans although hindered by the micro-foam.
They say Gold is the present for a 50th anniversary, luckily, we had a golden good time for our 50th breview. Nicole exuded knowledge and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to join us and teach us a thing or six. As each review goes by, our love for our followers grows, much like a flower. So, cheers to 50 and cheers to the next 3000. Au revoir pour le moment!
