Wow, wow weewow. What’s up long mac people, what it be, what it do, the blokes are back at again with another brew review. This week, hoping to appease their favourite south of the river advocate and blokes lobbyist, @gregj16 , the blokes went south; stretching their tendrils to The Neighbourhood in Attadale. What a freaking boost.
Vibes 🍃- The Neighbourhood (not to be confused with the ever-popular one hit wonder band formed in 2011 in sunny California) is a fun and fresh ‘neighbourhood’ kitchen, café and bottle shop just over the river in Attadale. Wasn’t quite ‘sweater weather’ this morning but the blokes were in need of a warming environment and this place certainly offered it – a converted liquor baron with plenty (we mean plenty) of space, expansive al fresco seating, table service and cheerful staff. Happy folks and happy blokes 😊
Taste 👅 – Awesome to see Dukes Coffee Roasters running through the grinders and the first time in a long time we have being able to give the kings a try. Beautiful Brazilian/Guatemalan/Colombian/Ethiopian blend that was perfectly extracted on the day. Vibrant caramel notes complimented with a touch of butterscotch and a cherry finish. Blokes were super impressed and the 6oz ratio was spot on!
Temperature 🌡 – Was so good that it made up for the blokes headaches this morning (from unknown causes)
Glass Size 📏 – Good to see that us and the neighbours are on the same page. 6oz = ❤️
Froth 🥛 –Froth levels like this don’t come around too often. When it does, the blokes sure don’t take it for granted.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – The brews were not consistent whatsoever and the latte art was really terrible. (Note that’s its Opposite Day).
As we sat peacefully enjoying our brew today, we realised we bared a remarkable resemblance to the 1991 film, “Boyz n the Hood” we however were more like “Blokez n the Neighbourhood”. A verrrry nice Long Macchiato topped up today, great vibes (including a celebrity spotting! @andrew_dougz ) but as per usual, the company was the highlight. Ta ta.
