Review #6 - @smoothoperatorcoffee

Wow. Super Saturday is upon us. The notion of "two for one" is a concept familiar to us all; be it a

healthy serving of grease from a fast-food establishment or a stunning deal from a local servo.

Indeed, perhaps even better than most, the blokes understand the hallowed phrase - delivering two reviews in one day. Smooth Operator knocked our socks off, brace yourselves...

Vibes 🍃 – The “Smop” was right up there on the vibe’o’meter – neatly nestled on Hay Street, with an old school wooden décor, rich mahogany and a gorgeous La Marzocco set-up. Smooth Jazz rung through the air breaking the eerie tones of the CBD, making you forget you were even in the city. Would love to see some more seating but we understand the predicament.

Taste 👅 – Smooth Operator utilise ‘Twin Peaks’ seasons best blend boasting heavy raisin flavours with a light chocolate and red berry undertone. Not many coffee houses give you the option of two different blends to dine-in, but we were happy to go with their most popular. Certainly, flavour filled, this 1:2.5 brew ratio really complemented these lulled flavours, undoubtedly one of the smoothest drops we’ve tasted.

Temperature 🌡 – As soon as the first drop of coffee encountered our lips, the blokes knew that we were in for a treat. Heavenly.

Glass Size 📏 - Smooth Operator provided us with some wicked 6oz glasses that we have not encountered yet on our coffee journey. They were translucent in nature, hinting of a rich light brown colour scheme, transcending the norm of long Macchiato glasses.

Froth 🥛 - Perfect froth, nothing bad to say. 👍 up from us.

General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 - The blokes were impressed with the simple yet satisfying latte art on display. Pairing with the near perfect froth levels, Smooth Operator has now set the benchmark for this historically weak category.

Not a heap to say in summation - the blokes have inevitably found their new favourite brew. Smooth Operator kills the game and their long macs are a joy to drink. They deservedly receive the highest score yet…
