The chilly wind and rain were not representative of the blokes’ jolly and flippant Sunday morning whimsy. Joined by a very special guest, the blokes had every reason to be at the top of their game. This week, the blokes stopped by Mel & Co in Cottesloe.
Vibes 🍃- Mel & Co. combines breakfast (with Asian fusion), tapas and specialty coffee all into one fine establishment in the midst of Cottesloe. The Blokes (and blokette) felt ‘Mel’ and truly out of their depth with some of the Instagram worthy breakfast dishes thrown around, but true to character, they stuck with their long mac quest. More of a ‘boujee’ restaurant feel than speciality coffee vibe but hey, life is for living.
Taste 👅- The ‘Bloke’s & Co’ were very pleased to see some old friends in ‘Micrology’ running through the grinder with a delightful Mexican/Colombian/Brazil filling our glasses (and hearts). This has all your classic notes of a good milk blend – cocoa, praline, and grapefruit (heck of a lot of grapefruit) that we could get behind. Wasn’t anything crazy, but certainly appreciable and absolutely appreciated 😊
Temperature 🌡 - Wasn’t very warm unfortunately, however was definitely viable.
Glass Size 📏 – Well done
Froth 🥛 – Honestly can’t say it was anything less than perfection. Bravo
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – 5 different designs is very very impressive. The consistency was also nuts, not to mention the awesome definition of the latte art. Respect ✊.
“Mel” “Mel” “Mel”… here we “Co” again. On a cold August morning in the rainy Cottesloe, we placed our bums on the seats of the latent Mel & Co. The lively introduction of a Blokette – Bella, provided some much-needed diversity and bright spirit to this week’s breview. Many thanks to Mel & Co. Ciao Bella! (Meaning ‘goodbye beautiful’ and also a literal ‘goodbye Bella’ in Italian.)
78.4/100 on the Brew ‘o’ Meter 🤖🤝
