Ahoy there, brewsciples (brew-disciples). As Perth temperatures drop exponentially and lead to some very chilly mornings, the blokes find themselves relying on the humble long mac for both its nutritional value and its bonus hand-warming capabilities. Brew fact: Ghandi once confirmed that the ideal long mac temperature is 60 degrees Celsius. Today the blokes stopped by Gill St Cafe.
Vibes š- Gill St CafĆ© + Deli is a cosy neighbourhood brot (brew-spot) that has been a local icon since it opened back in the 1950ās. 70 years later, the coffee has certainly changed (we hope), but the humble and relaxing character of the venue remains firmly imbedded. We appreciated the modern touches and additions and were especially grateful for the heating outside!
Taste š - Somewhat of an enigmatic brew this morning, with a custom Leftfield Coffee Roasters āGill Stā blend running through the hoppers. Pretty hard to go wrong with a Lefty blend, we picked up some South American notes which were incredibly creamy with a nut-butter and caramel mouth-feel. Not a whole lot of complexity in this one, but we reckon itās a great starting place for beginner Long-Mac drinkers or those looking to get into the Long Mac game without being overpowered.
Temperature š” - Nothing beats a toasty brew.Bien jouĆ©
Glass Size š ā Salvador Dali once said, āhave no fear of perfection - youāll never reach it.ā Think Salvador forgot to mention that 6oz long mac glasses are the exception.
Froth š„ ā Gill Street really hate doing this wrong it seems. Another awesome brew asset today.
General Appearance/Consistency š¤© ā Consistency in whatever u do in life is key. This brew was extremely consistent, but beauty might have been on the inside.
The dogs were walking, the sun shining and the birds chirping this fine morning. The Mosman-y Park-y aromas engulfed our nasal glands like the smell of a pleasant fartā¦ inspiring and sometimes bringing a tear to the eye. Was just fun having a brew on a Sunday morning tbh, everyone deserves that pleasure. Over and out from this majestic Gill St havenš«”
