Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in: another breview (brew-review). The blokes have decided that they need to make a brastic (drastic, but in the context of brews) change and start hitting the Perth CBD more, as they have around one billion requests for cafes in that area. This rainy old weekend, the blokes hit up Giant Coffee .
Vibes š- Big, big things, from this tiny, tiny space. Hidden away in the back of Northbridges China Town this cafĆ© has got something special about it. The retro outfitting, sleek timber finishes with splashes of green makes for a cosy, cute and fun brew-environment, topped off with epic, friendly staff that greet you with a smileā¦ what this shoebox-sized place lacks in space it makes up for with a giant heart <3.
Taste š - Our first taste of Perth coffee roasters ā Daylight and their signature PNG house blend. Hit with notes of dark cocoa, roasted almonds, and a sweet finish. Really lovely notes for a cold Perth morning, ratio was a bit-off in an 8oz and we wish we couldāve tried this in an oh so lovely 6oz. Shoutout to the Milkspinner on the menuā¦ looks mega good.
Temperature š” - Perfect temperature. Even Goldilocks wouldāve been impressed.
Glass Size š ā although we love scotch glasses (for obvious reasons) (8oz), the 6oz is superior for a Long Mac, and thatās on God.
Froth š„ ā Nearly as nice as the baristas we had a chat to - Giants staff were awesome! (Just smaller than we had in mind)
General Appearance/Consistency š¤© ā Whenever u see a sea horse on top of your long Mac you know you're in for a treat. Couldnāt fault the consistency even if we tried.
This was a huge brew. Nay ā a Giant brew, literally. Awesome staff, top tier ānicenessā baristas can go a longgggg way. It was small, it was hidden, it was quiet, but boy oh boy was it a gem. Congrats guys, you deserve this ā pat on the back for sure. Make sure to find it and have heaps of long macs because theyāre so goddam good. Sayonara.
87.3/100 on the Brew āoā Meter! š¤š¤
