It continues. The blokes (putting their bodies on the line for you, dear coffee enthusiast) braved the
full and heart-heaving force of yet another long mac. Having arrived at Tiisch, the blokes dug deeper into the Perth CBD...
Vibes 🍃- Seemingly occupying a restaurant/café vibe, Tiisch seemed to lend itself to a relaxed French style décor, with plenty of hanging wine and greenery. Sitting next to Smooth Operator, it was hard to compare the drastically different vibes… Tiisch seemed to really function between a restaurant and a café pumping out good quality coffee.
Taste 👅 – Tiisch utilised ‘Dark Star Coffee Roasters’ from Perth’s roasting hotspot, Osborne Park. Simply, it didn’t stun us; gassy with an excess of bloom – perhaps the beans could have spent some more time in the cupboard. Taste-wise, it was hard to put our finger on a definitive flavour profile, but it seemed to show hints of a very light chocolate and berry masked with a heavy bitter. Perhaps on another day, with some more mature beans, this brew could have been special.
Temperature 🌡 – The brew rested at a solid temperature. Not much to complain about here.
Glass Size 📏 – 6oz ✅
Froth 🥛 - Unfortunately froth was on the light side for a Long Mac. To be fair, there was only one barista on the machine on a busy morning. Considering these factors and the challenging task of splitting milk, they have done pretty darn well.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 - Unfortunately not the strongest latte art, with 3 awkward-looking love hearts, although with only one barista on the machine and a busy crowd waiting, we weren’t expecting anything extravagant.
Overall, Tiisch throws down a satisfying brew. The blokes weren’t blown away but could appreciate the output of a busy spot which seems to have several priorities which aren’t solely coffee. The food looked delicious, and we can see why the place was so packed.
