The blokes are back! Having found themselves in Europe, the blokes return with worldly knowledge, many trinkets, and a keen hankering for a WA long mac. Though they enjoyed their foray into the brews of other cultures, the truth is that Perth genuinely peddles some of the greatest brews around. Indeed, on the global stage, Australian coffee is a bit like the Velvet Underground - cool, progressive, setting timeless trends. Today the blokes visited Cafe Cafe. As Borat once said, “it’s very nice!”.
Vibes 🍃- Overlooking the Subi square and railway station is a neat two-storied café/restaurant that is hard to miss. With a very spacious upstairs lounge area, indoor and outdoor dining options and even a takeaway window. Above all else, this was an easy place to sit-back and to listen to stories from adventures in Europe whilst you share how little went on back in Perth
Taste 👅- Second time trying Perth based family-run roaster ‘Brew Coffee’ and we certainly weren’t disappointed. This blend was new however and packed a punch. Quite a rich and full bodied-bean with dark chocolate overtones, blended with dark cherry and finishing with a dash of honey. Satisfying brew, not as progressive and characteristic as we would wish, but did the job.
Temperature 🌡- Muy Caliente! Oops sorry we should clarify, that means “very hot” in Espanol
Glass Size 📏 – Interesting glasses today. We are all for innovation, but sometimes u gotta stick to the messiah (6oz).
Froth 🥛 – Brews were slightly frothy. However, we can’t fault their enthusiasm✊.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – Didn’t blow our socks off. In saying that our socks are quite grippy.
Someone better tell Thin Lizzy because the boys/blokes are back in town! Our hiatus is over, all tanned and cultured from our spiritual journey of self-discovery. We were just thankful we managed to arrive safely despite walking on the right side of the path. In sum, a well-rounded, brew. Dark choc sensation that rivals some of the chocolatey-est. Just remember, they need AUD and don’t accept Euros, weird?
