Ecstatic, excited and eager. This is how the blokes felt when pulling up to Doric Street, nestled right in the humble suburb of Scarborough. General Public, our most requested cafe to review by far. The blokes finally decided it was time to head on over for an afternoon brew and boy oh boy, this experience was astonishing

Vibes 🍃 – GP’s vibes were very welcoming and a perfect destination for a family lunch or dinner. We really enjoyed the space both inside and outside making for an authentic relaxed, homely feel complimented by lovely staff. Only real criticism is that dine-in coffees aren’t served until after lunch, but the blokes understand the pressure of an early morning takeaway coffee rush.

Taste 👅 – General Public utilise Leftfield Coffee Roasters, a locally owned and operated coffee roaster operating from yep, you guessed it… Osborne Park. What we believe to be a custom blend showed hints of chocolate and caramel with an especially velvety ‘mouth-feel’. In saying this, the 8oz glasses really made it tough to get the full flavour of the espresso, more about that later…

Temperature 🌡 – The searing temperature of the long Mac was greatly appreciated and although it was a scorching Perth afternoon, GP have absolutely nailed this component.

Glass Size 📏 – Unfortunately, for the first time we were presented with 8oz glasses, we really wish GP could make the switch as it’s holding the brew back from that next level.

Froth 🥛 - GP’s froth levels were equivalent to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling. A magnificent and inspiring piece of work.

General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 -The latte art certainly was no Statue of David, but for a ‘Food Co.’ we weren’t expecting much. In saying that, the side profiles were perfect, easily the most consistent so far!

General Public have deservedly placed themself on the podium, according to the holy brew ‘o’ meter. They are an awesome establishment hosting delightful coffee with great taste, perfect froth, and exquisite temperature. Not to mention the comforting snug vibes, proving the perfect destination for the family.
