Writer's pictureBlokes and Their Long Macs

Review #9- @ericchamberlaincafe

Driving through the streets of Cottesloe amongst gorgeous houses and iconic Norfolk Island Pines, the blokes were excited. Eric Chamberlain, nestled on the corner of, yep you guessed it, Eric and Chamberlain Street boasting an excellent reputation. Our very special guest, Dave has been drinking Macchiatos since 2001. Although his chat was poor to say the least, his experiences with caffeinated beverages cannot be questioned.

Vibes šŸƒ- Nestled in the heart of Cottesloe amongst the pines, Eric Chamberlain certainly allowed for an open atmosphere with plenty of seating amongst the local flora. Our only criticism was the ordering process and collecting dine-in coffees from the front bar which really held this place back from hitting top tier status for vibes.

Taste šŸ‘… ā€“ Eric Chamberlain utilises Leftfield Coffee Roasters ā€˜Kamā€™s Signature Roastā€™ which was certainly rich and full. Lending to a more traditional, old-school, coffee pallet ā€“ this blend really exhibited customary rich chocolate and smoky tastes finishing with a resinous turpeny aftertaste. Not quite the taste the blokes are accustomed to but Iā€™m sure it would suit the traditional folk (like Dave).

Temperature šŸŒ” ā€“ EC served the blokes with a near perfect temperature. I would describe it as snug, not scorching, but toasty in nature.

Glass Size šŸ“ ā€“ To be frank or Eric perhapsā€¦ the glasses really let this brew down. Unfortunately, they were 8oz and not glasses, with certain room for improvement.

Froth šŸ„› - It was extremely hard to tell froth levels due to the glasses, although it was certainly on the generous side.

General Appearance/Consistency šŸ¤© - There was no real latte art on display unfortunately, although consistency wise was a tick.

A treacherous journey it was, but a battle through the pines proved beneficial for a delicious brew. With a let down on glass, size and latte art, all-round, it was a half decent long mac. Cottesloe is an area of affluence, and the brew didnā€™t quite complement that, but it did its service as a good brew and thatā€™s what matters. Definitely swing by if youā€™re around Cott.

74.1/100 on the Brew ā€˜oā€™ Meter šŸ¤–šŸ¤
