This week, the blokes make their triumphant return to Myaree in light of their 2024 goal to venture south of the river more. Grouch & Co has been recommended a great deal and the Blokes were thrilled to pay them a brisit (brew-visit).
Vibes 🍃- This neat little warehouse south of the river is every coffee nerds dream space to soak plenty of hours of the day into. Put simply, this is a cellar door for coffee: in-house roastery, a selection of 5 different blends, coffee flights, table service and best of all, sparking water on arrival. Grouch and his band of merry baristas know exactly what they are doing.
Taste 👅- Sipping on their local Colombian/Tanzanian/Rwandan blend was an absolute treat. Notes of milk chocolate, cherry, raisins, and nougat was perfect to toast to a new year. We felt criminal only trying one of many blends on offer, however we can seriously vouch for their cold brew, as smooth as it comes 😎
Temperature 🌡- We set them up in a position to perform and they sure did. Gotta always take your chances.
Glass Size 📏 – Look are we here for the 5oz, sorta... No 6oz glasses but we didn’t mind what we saw.
Froth 🥛 – Was absolutely humming this morning. Real winner.
General Appearance/Consistency 🤩 – When push comes to shove, the hearts on the brews were terrific, always keen for something more though.
We were certainly not grouchy about this visit to Grouch and Co. Ranking in the upper echelons of brew spots for aesthetic appeal, detail and all round groovyness. This joint was certainly a joy to sip a brew at and enjoy all its special qualities that most other cafes don’t possess. To all our “Northern bias” and “You never come South of River” haters… to quote Matt Damon “HOW DO YA LIKE THEM APPLES”
